June 6 - KGO - If you’re looking for a new camera to take on your summer vacation, you might want to go digital. Michael Finney details what cameras were just recommended by the Good Housekeeping Institute.
Are you one of those people still using old fashioned film cameras?
If you want to update your photography skills or you’re in the market for a new digital camera here’s some tips. Good Housekeeping Institute researchers tested 23 digital cameras all under $400 dollars and picked three they like best.
Their favorite?
The Kodak eight mega-pixel easy-share the picture quality was good indoors and out.
Todd Kent, Good Housekeeping Institute: “And it was great for beginners and was the least expensive of our winners.”
It has a cool feature that lets you “stitch together” three pictures to get a panoramic view.
And if you want to capture quick action, try the Panasonic Lumix. It can snap one shot right after the next.
And they liked this 7.2 mega-pixel Casio EX.
“We liked it because it was light and slim, and could easily fit into your pocket.”
And with a touch of a button, this camera turns into — a camcorder that lets you instantly capture snippets of live action.
Good Housekeeping also says the more mega-pixels a camera has, the bigger you can make the prints without losing quality but be careful because more pixels take up more memory.
