Parents, start your shopping: Digital camera tops toy list

There are only 50 shopping days left before Christmas. For those of you who don’t leave your gift buying to a mad spree on Dec. 24, the Canadian Toy Testing Council has announced its list of the top toys of the year.
Topping that list is a digital camera, designed to withstand to rough-and-tumble play of kids three and up. This is a generation that has been raised being able to see photos instantaneously, so better to give them their own have them toss your expensive Nikon around the room.
The Kidizoom digital camera was named the 2008 CTTC/Energizer battery-operated toy of the year by the non-profit organization that clearly has no issues with sponsorship.
The CTTC picks its top toys based on play testing by over 1,000 children and families who consider design, safety, battery consumption, durability, ease of assembly and how popular the toy is after a few weeks of use.
The 2008 Children’s Choice Awards included the Balancing Bug Stacker for toddlers to an updated version of the little red wagon and a walk-in kitchen that is probably nicer than your own.
